I'm having problems installing a frontier into the middle seat of the third row in an 08 Outlook.

We are using it in harness position and have the rocker set forward. The seat moves too much side to side with just the shoulder belt. When we add the tether it is much more secure but I was told that is not okay...it should be secure with just the shoulder belt.

But, if we try to get the shoulder belt any tighter, which seems impossible, the seat tilts to the side in a sort of extreme angle.

Our second row is captain seats and I have two smaller children in those seats so the Frontier has to be installed in the third row.

Is this seat compatible with the Outlook?

Can someone who has had a successful installation help me?

I drive a Saturn Outlook but haven't tried the Frontier in there yet. I know that the center 3rd row position can be a bit difficult with some seats because of the way the buckle system is.

You are correct that the seat needs to have a proper installation with less than 1" movement at the belt path before connecting the tether.

Which install method are you using? Short belt path or long belt path? You can also twist the "mini" stalk - the one that the mini buckle from the ceiling connects to, up to 3 complete turns. Between that and the long belt path I think it should go in. I can't say for sure without having tried it, but that would be my guess based on knowing what that seating position is like.

eta: Here's a pic of that seating location if it helps anyone trouble shoot as to which install method is best:

The radian is blocking the mini buckle in the first pic, but you can see it in the 2nd pic. I unfortunately can't find the original full size image of the 2nd pic. I think the mini buckle stalk may be twisted already in the picture, but I don't remember for sure.
