have latch (im not sure when they started to put them in every car). Also I know Chevy says a center latch install is ok does this apply to all their cars (I got this info from this site http://www.saferidenews.com/pdfs/pg_126_max_wt_07.pdf ) and does Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 allow a center latch install. Im going to help my sister install her seat rear facing this weekend then a local tech will check it out monday morning for her.

I also know that most people dont like these seats and I hated mine but my sister wont listen to so this is what she got.
Thank you for your help.

I doubt it has LATCH. I recently looked at a 2002 model that did not.

LATCH in the Silverado depends on the specific body style and the model year. The LATCH manual lists the 2001 regular cab Silverado as having full LATCH (lower LATCH anchors plus a top tether anchor) on the front passenger side with a passenger side airbag on/off switch, and a tether anchor for the front center position. The LATCH manual indicates the crew cab Silverado model didn't have lower LATCH anchors until late in the 2002 model year. The '01'-'05 extended cab Silverado models are listed as having full LATCH in the rear center and rear passenger seating positions, with a top tether on the driver's side.

GM allows center LATCH installations if there is a dedicated set of center lower LATCH anchors, and GM also allows borrowing of outboard lower LATCH anchors in GM models that don't have a dedicated set of center lower LATCH anchors if the child restraint manufacturer allows borrowing, too. Dorel (parent company for the Eddie Bauer, Cosco, and Safety First brands of carseats) allows borrowing if the vehicle manufacturer does.
