I know that car seats are not supposed to move more than an inch at the point of the belt path, but I'm wondering: how is the proper way to check that?
I just got a Frontier and took it to my local seat check event today to see if they could help me install it (after reading all the horror stories). They helped me get the seat installed and told me that I should shake it at the belt path using my non-dominant hand in order to test that it is tight enough. When I do that, the seat doesn't move, but if I use 2 hands and shake it as hard as I can it loosens up much more. So, is it ok as long as it doesn't move when I shake it w/ 1 hand?
I have a 2001 Volvo s60 without latch and the seat is installed center using SBP. I read in a posting here that someone was able to get a great install in this car in the outboard position using LBP, but for the life of me I couldn't get the belt to fit (too short). Also, my DS is 3 years-old and 38 lbs. if that info. is usefull at all.
Thank you for any input you have!
