Is the seat back in the "upright" position? It does look a little reclined, but it also looks like it's all the way back on the seat...
Was the vehicle sitting on a slope when the picture was taken?

Thanks,
no slope but you can tell by the sliding door window I was holding the camera a little crooked. This was the most level picture I got.
I think the seatback was reclined about 3 clicks.

That does look very reclined to me, but I don't know if the Radian has specific rules about that.
Does the car allow the seat to be reclined that much? Three clicks seems like a lot. If the vehicle manual doesn't state, I wouldn't be comfortable with more than two clicks. (And even that I'd avoid unless NEEDED for the install.)

I get approx 34 degrees after correcting the picture.
Check your vehicle manual regarding the vehicle seat recline. My Toyota Sienna requires that the captain's chairs be 5 clicks reclined, and the 3rd row is supposed to be 11 clicks from vertical. They are all different, so you'll just have to check your manual to be sure.

Thanks, everyone, I will go look at the manual.
I was hoping there was some rule (like no more than such and such degrees).
I had it on 2 clicks but she couldn't sleep so the second trip I did 3 clicks and she did but then it looked like it could be too reclined to me.

Five and 11 clicks??? How far apart are the clicks?

Ok, I just read the manual the only mention was "put seat back in upright position".
Any ideas, techs?

It definitely looks way over-reclined.

Since it says 'put seat back in upright position,' I would do just that, and use the recline foot on the Radian itself. It's not super-reclined, but it's safe and better than bolt-upright. What van do you have?

5 clicks is a normal position in the sienna. when it's fully upright, it leans uncomfortably forward. It's weird. 5 clicks looks nice and verticle.
11 clicks...hmm.....I just put the 3rd row where it looks good. I'll have to measure the clicks one day.

I don't think it looks any more reclined in those pics than it did in my sister's Civic.
I have to recline the seat at least a couple of clicks to get it installed in the 2nd row of my Mazda5.
