View Full Version : EB 3-in-1 RFing in a 2005 Matrix
Anybody got this combo or something similar? Trying to help out a friend. She & her hubby haven't been able to get it in without the front passenger having no legroom.
TIA:)

did they remove the base?
Those seats take up SOOO much less room without that silly base on.
No, I don't think so. They can be used without the base? I haven't actually had a chance to look at it yet.

Yes. I'd say in most cases the 3-in-1 seats install better once the base is removed. Have them read the manual on how to do it. They'll then need 1-3 chunks of pool noodle (tape into a pyramid) to create recline. They'll also need to be sure that the recline foot is tucked up under the seat as opposed to being down. Down is for ff, tucked up is for rf. (well, actually IIRC you *can* have the recline foot tucked up for ff, but well, that's an entirely new thread LOL).
So yeah, remove the base, use pool noodles, and be sure to have them disregard the "level lines" on the seat (found on the seatbelt guides for booster mode). The level lines are deceiving and often cause confusion.
If you post asking for pics of a 3-in-1 installed rf with noodles, I'm sure you'll get a reply. I know someone around here has an excellent pic.
