I'm torn between the marathon and the radian for my 9 month old. Right now he's in a scenera, but I want to get him one that will last longer.

Which one would you pick and why?

Thanks

Oh yeah his stats...

9 months old
25lbs
about 29 1/2 inches

The Radian will last longer because it has higher top harness slots, so if that's the only criteria you're looking at right now, you'll want the Radian.

Keep in mind that the Radian does take up more front-to-back room (leaving less legroom for a front passenger) when it's rear-facing, so if you have a smaller vehicle that could be a concern. Also, it can be tricky or even impossible to install with the seat belt in certain vehicles, so if your vehicle doesn't have LATCH, or when your child's weight is higher than the LATCH weight limits (generally 40-48lbs depending on your vehicle) that will be an issue as well.

I have both the Radian and the Marathon and like them both about equally for my needs.

Both the Marathon and the Radian will last longer than the scenera. Either would be a great choice. Like Defrost said, the Radian is taller so will last longer. I have/had marathons for both my kids and love them. They are super easy to install in pretty much any vehicle and I love the fit for my kids.

I have both (2 of each actually). I really love the MA for younger kids and RFg and ease of install. I love the RN for its low FFg profile (older kids can climb in on their own easier) and the higher top slots.

The MA is easier to use in most vehicles and would be my top choice for travel/rental vehicles. But, the RN folds for travel and works really well on an airline seat FFg b/c of the low profile. Both are heavy seats, but the RN is significantly heavier.

Try both in your vehicle and if they install equally well, flip a coin. LOL.

That's about where I'm at :p

There is a store downtown that sells both so I'm hoping they'll let me try them in the car
