We need to put these on a CC so I'm looking for quality at a low price. Anyone know where the best deals are? Or can recommend a brand, model, etc?

I bought LG frontloader washer/dryer - they were on sale at Best Buy for $688 each - i got a best buy card and it is no interest for 18 months! so if i can keep up the $100 a month they will paid off with no interest:) - this was a few months ago though.

Home Depot will match any competitors price, then beat it by 10%. Plus 12 months no payments, no interest on a HD Credit card.
(If the current advertisement says less, ask, and they will extend it to 12 months.)

Edited to add what DH says:

If you want a front loader, go with LG. Unless you are putting it on the second floor, then he doesn't reccommend a front loader.

What are you looking for? Where is it going? What is your budget?

We have an LG front loader too :) I love it, and it has all the bells & whistles of a Maytag without the price tag ;)

Honestly, I don't have a clue. The front loader washers were more expensive when we looked at them briefly so I guess I was leaning more towards top loaders. DH is much more relaxed about putting things on the CC so for him the budget is probably $2000 after tax, warranties, etc. I didn't want to go above $1000 but I'm thinking we'll try to meet in the middle at about 1400-1500. I wish we could have found a good used set but the ones that sounded decent were more cash than we could pay up front. They will be going downstairs in our (rented) townhouse. The hook ups are in a tiled area (think big closet) in the hallway right outside the living room.
Thank you for the tip on Home Depot, I'll check them out this weekend. :)

I have the LG aswell and LOVE them. I paid a pretty price for them but they have well worth the investment. My cloths look new LONGER,come out cleaner, dry faster and I fit more cloths in the wash than before.

A top ;loader washer uses on average 52gallons of water to wash a full load.

The LD uses 15

My old dryer took 60+ minutes to dry my cloths

My LG take 41 if that

a top loader can NVER be staked if spaces is needed

My LG can

When the kids are sick I wash their stuff on sanitize and it super heats the water and kills 99.5 of bactiria

Looks like sears has a Kenmore HE2 on sale right now with free delivery and haul off. Otherwise, there looks like a nice LG like that for a a good price at best buy and on US appliance.com with free shipping.

Make sure you talk to a knowledgeable appliance associate at atleast two different stores. They will be able to show you the models that will best fit your familys needs. Appliance sales are very competitive right now SO-

Your best bet might be to check out the credit terms at most places. Go with the one that will give you the most time to pay it off interest free and / or at the lowest rate, then have that store price match / beat the lowest price you can find.

Appliance sales are turning into car sales, everyone will probably agree to free delivery and free haul away and everyone should price match. If not, move on to the next store.
