I just wanted anyone who has access to the military exchange online that the Frontiers are $219. I'm not sure if it is a limited special or a drop in price for the exchange system. Hope this helps someone.
See reply below for code.

:yeahthat: could someone check shipping cost to 99645. Or do they do a ship to store thing? I don't have access but my dad does. I have no need for the seat myself but I'd love to see my giant 3yo niece back in a 5 point. Especially for that price!

Typically for that site, orders over $49 are free shipping unless it's an oversized item, and I don't think the Frontier is an oversized item. So, shipping should be free for these.

Shipping is free, but if you want priority shipping it is $15, in my experience regular shipping is fast.

Ugh! I so want one of those for Parker, but I can't spare the money right now! I was planning on ordering one when my tax returns come. Oh well. That's an awesome price. My best friend who ordered a marathon the last time they had the deal like this is going to order one for her 7 year old if her financial aid refund comes in time. Lucky her! :) I don't need one just yet. The seat in my sisters car only has a 40lb limit so I wanted to put the true fit in her car and the frontier in my car.

It's a sale price for a limited time. If you want to know how long, contact customer service. They tend to have odd dates on them.

Shipping is free for over $50 or Star card unless it's oversized. If it were considered 'oversized', it would say the actual cost.
If your dad goes online to aafes.com, when he goes to place it in his shopping cart, right above it is -- Ship to: _________ with a dropdown box. If he selects "Other", he can input new shipping addresses without any problems. (I had to do just this the other day to send dh an airbed in Korea).
You can send to someone else as a bonafide 'gift' regardless of their military status.
Coast Guard needs to contact aafes directly to determine eligiblity. I have no idea. They're considered IIRC, Department of Transportation except in times of war. Well, we are at war, but has it been technically allowed by Congress & AAFES? dunno, sorry. :shrug-shoulders:

Ugh! I so want one of those for Parker, but I can't spare the money right now! I was planning on ordering one when my tax returns come.
I just put the pink one in the shopping cart and they said that the 'expected date in stock is 30 Sept.' I know they won't charge the card until they ship, so that might help you out, perhaps?
But then again, don't count on it. My camera wasn't supposed to be in stock until 16 Sept. and it was immediately sent out on the day I ordered it from Fuji in Japan.
I am tempted, so very tempted. I tried out the 15% off code and it did make it $186. If I have to give up the Regent, this would be a good deal. Oh heck, I'll try it out. I can't afford to pass this up, especially since I might be having to deal with a tetherless vehicle next year.
Thanks for the info on this. Especially that coupon code.

My father in law just ordered 2 for us this afternoon. I was going to hold off until the Marathons expire next fall, but this was too good a deal. And now I can sell the Marathons while they still have some time on them.

I just called the exchange system catalog and they said the Frontiers will be on sale for $219 until Oct 1st and the coupon is good until Oct 15th. So if you want to wait a little bit we have time.

Yes there will, but will there be another Coupon Discount through aafes? That is the real question. :shrug-shoulders:
2 years ago, they had a wonderful 30% off through the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend + off/on until Christmas. I was hoping they'd do the same last year. Nope. Just regular specials on specific items.
just consider that. ;)

BTW -- The other day, I DID order the Frontier in Pink for dd with 15% off. That makes 4 seats currently for one child and one car.:o
That status will change in 6-7 months. DH will have a car and I'll likely have a new one that I"m not sure the Regent is compatible after she hits 50lbs. The Radian will be outgrown in a year or so. So all's well, I guess.

Thanks - I'm off to email FIL - he's retired Navy (Oct 07) but works as a GS now. If he can't, I'm sure one of his guys would order it for me! SSSHHHHH - I'm not telling DH until it arrives. (When I missed out on the Regent for $189.00 a few months ago he told me if a deal came around again to jump on it!)

If your FIL is actually retired (not just former military) he should still have Exchange privileges. My dad has been retired Army National Guard for probably 15 years and still has them.

I let my brother know about the site but he isn't enlisted anymore. He is a navy veteran. So does he have to be enlisted to use this site? I told him to check it out for me.

Because of the concern over the harnesses coming off the splitter plate in back, I canceled our order for the Frontiers until Britax can fix the issue. I tried a floor model at a local store and sure enough, one side of the harness came off the splitter plate after pulling and tightening repeatedly on one side. Not acceptable.

Can anyone post a link to the Frontiers on the aafes store site? I have a close friend chasing one for me on said site and she said that she can't find Britax Frontier on it. Her hubby is enlisted airforce.
UlrikeDG
09-02-2008, 10:55 PM
Tell her to search for "Britax". It's listed as "InSTEP® Britax® Frontier™ Harness-2-Booster® Car Seat".
Or, she can get to it this way:
Home > Baby & Toys > Car Seats, Infant Carriers & Strollers > Car Seats & Booster Seats
If she does a sort by "Price (Descending)", it will be on the second item on the page (the Recaro Signo is before it).
AlishaNC82
09-02-2008, 10:58 PM
If she does a search for britax frontier it will come up. For some reason it is listed as Instep Britax Frontier so if you narrow it by brand and Britax it won't appear.

Many thanks! She was able to find it but the Sahara is not listed as an option and now I'm a bit scared off by the split-plate issue. Think I'll put our Frontier purchase on hold until Britax sorts it out.

Does anyone know what colors the Keyfit30 is available in? We have access to aafes but DH isn't home so I don't know the password to view which colors. Depending on the color we might switch and get that instead of the SS1 considering how it would now be cheaper. Thanks!

I log in with my own info. I about fell out of my chair to find out that *my* ssn was accpetable! I am, after all, "just" the dependant. For you non-military members, EVERYTHING the military does requires at least the last 4 of your sponsor's ssn, I know my dh's number better than I know my own! But anyway, you shouldn't have to wait for you dh, sign on yourself!

yeah, AAFES knows who you are now. They WANT you to spend money. I bet dependents easily spend more than the AD member :p
Our account is all messed up. I signed up years ago with his ssan & my name. Their computer system was more backwards than now. And I've never felt the need to unconfuse them by confusing them with the truth. He has a separate account, but he never remembers his own password. DH ALWAYS uses mine as a main one.
Depending on holiday specials when a discount is offered 1-to each account name, then I've used it. But I believe this 20% is only to a 'household'.
good luck :)

Wow, I honestly never thought that I could use my own SSN... lol, I am just the "acquired dependent" after all (gotta love their wording). But good to know  And yeah I do agree about knowing his SSN better than my own, LoL, I have on more than one occasion began writing his number on forms for ones that actually did want my number :)
And after showing DH the color choices we've decided to still stick with the SS1... oh well! There will always be good deals later in the future we can take advantage of (well I'm hopin at least, specially down the road on a MA, LoL).
