I got a frontier today and i installed it - but it is definately "different" than any other seat I have had - so it is causing me to second guess myself -
1. first on the SBP i got it in, almost no movement rather easily and i went to lock the seat belt - well, since i have always used latch I didn't realize my van doesn't lock with the pull it all the way out thing. The manual says "The passenger seat belts are equiped with cinching latch plates.....Pulling up on the shoulder portion of the lap/shoulder belt will tighten the belt. the cinching latch plate will keep the belt tight..." Well, it was installed, i shook the seat at the belt bath and did not loosen so does this eman i don't really do anything to lock the belt? i am rather confused. Anyway, i ended up using latch since DD1 is only 29lbs but i want to make sure it is compatible for seat belt install also.

2. As for the latch, i had to pull the tightening strap back throught the SPB hole and through the cover into the seat to tighten them ( not pulling from the outside edges of the seat - now the latch things are sitting inside the SPB on both sides - Does this matter? If it does than I cannot use latch.
Pics od the lower anchor strap inside the SBP left side:

right side:

One more pic because i probably stink at explaining this - if you look at the frontier, right behind where the bottoms of the harness are coming out of the seat, inbetween the pink and grey is a slit in the cover where i pulled the latch straps through to tighten - if you need better pics please let me know.

3. Ok, third question - I could have the harness down one notch and it would be almost dead even with DDs shoulders maybe a tiny hair above so i moved it up one so DH won't let her go over - is this ok or is right at her shoulders better than above?
Pic of where harness straps are on the slot above dead even:

4. Ok last question - can it hand off the seat of the van like?

Sorry to bombard with questions - its just so different than my MAs and BLVDs!

they are locking latchplates. as long as it's staying tight, you really don't need to do anything else. If you find it loosens over time, you can flip the latchplate. By buckling it backward, you better align the belt portions so it can function properly.

2. fine :)

you might find that it's easier to reach from inside the beltpath on the opposite side and pull from behind the cover. It can help with the angle and then the straps are tucked away.

at is actually ideal (one benefit of infinite adjust harnesses), but one notch above is fine. better to have it slightly above than to miss when she goes above it.

4. Ok last question - can it hang off the seat of the van like?

yes. at least 80% of the base needs to be on the vehicle seat. it's definitely less than 20% hanging off.

Thank you! Well, after those questions were answered the install was not bad at all - i was expecting installation issues and it ended up rather simple for both SBP and latch - I guess I will try LBP tomorrow for the heck of it - i will also try it in a F150 and a malibu
