Okay, I finally got around to washing the cover on my dd's Regent. Out the seat came, and we put in a Radian. In the process we discovered that the locking latchplate mechanism (2006 T&C, SWB) doesn't really lock-the seatbelt still slides enough to cause the install to loosen. We had been turning the female end of the buckle stalk 1/2 twist (read that here) before buckling it. Is that okay? The seatbelt can still be pulled and come loose, so we used a locking clip.

Today, we went to re-install her Regent, and we had the same problem. Is it okay to use a locking clip? Has anyone else encountered this problem with a Chrysler minivan, or are we just missing something?

If it isn't holding, then I would totally use a locking clip.

It's the MALE end you should be twisting... the part that is attached to the belt, not the buckle stalk. ;)

Oh, great catch.

We can try twisting the male end, but it's the female end with the problem:). She just can't hang on. I guess we'll stick with the locking clip. Will it really make a difference to twist the male end?

Thank you!

Nevermind, my brain isn't functioning well. We were twisting the male end. Yep, he can't hang on. So, a locking clip it is.

Thanks!

You've already got your answer, but I wanted to add this just for the record; my friend has a T&C and uses a locking clip on her Husky for the exact same reason.
