I'm waiting to hear back from VW, but that can take 48 hours. But I just got a 1999 cabrio and I can't find any tether anchors. Are they there?

You may need to have them installed, bt you should have pre-drilled locations for them.

Some convertibles do not have tether anchors...

The LATCH manual indicates that the 2D Cabrio convertible had 2 tether anchors welded to the floor behind the rear seat. It advises that the tether must be routed over a plastic guide in the panel behind the seat and to consult the owner's manual for details.
It also mentions that late 1999 models may have full LATCH in the back seat.
If you do not have an owner's manual, you should contact VW at 1-800-822-8987

thanks. I don't have an owner's manual, but I will be ordering one. VW just got back to me and they can actually retro-fit with latch and tether anchors for free!! I'm so excited! I just installed a Husky and a Boulavard and I got a great fit, but I want to have the latch/tether done.

& yes, top tether is required for the Husky when kiddo reaches 50# ;)

Does anyone know the brand of car seat that is compatible with the cabrio. I brought my wife's car to the police station and he said the one I had (Conso) was no good. So I just put that one in my car, now we have to get her one.
