crotch buckle position on Husky [old Regent]

The HUSKY manual says "Select the slot closest to, but not under, the child. WARNING: Do not use position two until child exceeds 50 pounds!"

My daughter is 52 lbs. and still sits behind the first position of the crotch buckle. I'm thinking I can leave her in this first position, correct?

So when it's time to move her to the 2nd buckle position, it's becaue she is sitting over the first position and not just because she's over 50 lbs. I hope I'm understanding this correctly.

Yes, that's always the way I interpreted that, too. :) My daughter is 7, 60 pounds, only an inch away from outgrowing the Regent, and still needs the first position.
