I am driving on Friday to Chattanooga, and as long as I can get an appointment tomorrow to get GMIL's oil changed and tires rotated, I'll be taking her car, a

2007 Honda Civic

My two boys are rear-facing, and here are the seats I have to choose from.

Radian 80
Boulevard (I need to ship this in to get it replaced, but I haven't found a big enough box, and the head wings are only a problem when it's upright so I can always recline it more)
Safety 1st Uptown
Graco Comfortsport

All kids fit in all seats (yes, the newborn fits in the Boulevard, I put up a picture thread awhile back ).

I'd like to be able to have the option of sitting in the middle or outboard in the back seat (on the drive back of course, LOL, I'll have DH then). The Radian fits DS2 best, although I'd kind of like to put DS1 in it since it has the most leg room and on a recent trip in the BV, he whined and kicked his legs and couldn't get comfortable. Then again the seats in this car lean back farther so he may have more room.

Soooo, what wouldja do?

And, any tips for driving from South GA (Albany) to Chattanooga? With a 22mo and a 1mo? :D

i've never installed the radian so don't know about that car but i would put oldest son in it since he ikes it best and put younger son in the uptown just cause i hate the comfortsport. if you need a box perhaps go to your local target or babies rus and see if seomone buys one and install it and doesn't need the box or ask if they have an extra box in the store.

Since you have a LONG drive I would put your oldest in the seat he likes best b/c if he is happier, then you will be as well. Also make sure to have lots of toys for him to play with, somthing to drink, a few noisy toys (while although they might make you a little crazy a SCREAMING toddler is SOOOO much worse), some snacks like crackers goldfish fruit snacks (less messy the better), also over recline him a little bit so he sleeps better. Also if he has a lovey of some sort...make sure to let him have it! My DS travels with his puppy (lovey) & it makes it SOOO much better as he still sleeps quite well, as in most of the drive!

I hope I got it all, but if I think of more I will add it. I have been making a 3 hour drive once a month since my son was about 4-6 weeks old. All but about 3 of the trips were with him RF as well! So I have done this a few times. I just try to make sure he has plenty of toys to play with & something to drink & snack on! Good Luck!
