Title basically says it all. Need advise ASAP & any pics or tips would be appreciated since i'll likely just pass on the link to this thread. This is for DB who's never installed a carseat before and will be using a Companion unless there's a reason not to or just a better suggestion.
Installing tonight so please help
Thanks :)

I replied to your other thread here (http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=55145).
Basically, Hyundai has no info, so I would *not* use LATCH to install in the center.
Since this is a very short notice install, I would use LATCH in the outboard position.

Jen,
I saw that you responded in both threads Thank you so much. I didn't know where itd get attention and we needed the answer tonight ya know. You've basically confirmed what I told him earlier but he said he'd like me to check :) So I will call him back and walk him thru whichever he prefers and remind him we can always switch if that's not working beyond bringing baby home.
Any other tips you'd give a first timer installing quickly to help be sure its done correctly?

Seeing this a little late... but seeing as he's a *pressured* first timer...
I'd highly recommend LATCH in an outboard position to start.
I've never installed a Companion before, but I believe it would have an adjustment on the base to raise/lower the foot. It would most likely need to be lowered all the way out (most vehicles need this) to get the seat to a 45 degree angle.
Then attach lower anchors, put one hand in the base, apply pressure and tighten latch strap.
Test for movement with *one* hand *at* the belt path with gentle tugging back and forth motions. If it moves less than an inch, it's installed.
Place the seat in the base and check for appropriate recline. You can look along the back of the seat where babies back would go. It needs to be at a 45 degree recline from the *level* ground.

I own a 2007 Hyundai Elantra and you cannot use the LATCH in the middle seat. I have also called Hyundai to conform this because they do not make this very clear in the manual.
