Please forgive me if this question has already been answered, but I couldn't find any info on it in my search.
I took off the shell of our Britax Boulevard to clean it this weekend. I dismantled the headrest and the straps as recommended in the manual, and afterwards noticed a small spring on the floor by the carseat. It's maybe 1" to 1.5" long, and a few millimeters wide. The wire is thin so it doesn't look to be a very strong spring. In any case, after fully examining the seat I can't figure out what it goes to. I don't even know if it even belongs to the car seat, or if it was on the floor before and I just didn't notice.
If anyone knows what parts of the car seat use springs please let me know so I can take a look at them. So far it looks like the handle to adjust the recline and the lever to loosen and tighten the straps may use a spring. Anything else? I tried calling the Britax customer support, but that was just a joke. I was told the seat didn't use springs--or at least there were no replacement springs listed in the catalog. I wasn't very confident in their answer hence the post here.
TIA!
