But I doubt the police would even enforce it.

I've got 2 questions:
The "Current Law" section says that children OVER 1 year of age need to be in an suitable child restraint or seatbelt. It doesn't say anything about infants. Does this mean the current laws don't require an infant to be in a restraint?
The reforms says that children move to a FF restraint at 6 months. Does this mean if you keep your child RF longer, you are breaking the law? Is 6 months the standard age in Australia to move a child to FF?
Thanks!

They have to be in one till they are a year here, but after a year it is only recommended.
No, you are not breaking the law if you keep them rf longer. But here most kids are turned at 6 months.
I know it is crazy. But did you notice that it says nothing about weight.
A friend of mine here who's dd just turned 7 and only weighs 35 lbs rides w/ the seat belt only, no booster. She is also pretty short and would never pass the US 5 step test.

It's better...like jumping from the fire into the frying pan better...but at least they are trying, I guess? :( (better than some states here, so I'm not judging too harshly :o)
