Any of you Alberta techs know if the people installing cars at Safety City are CRSTs? My dd is going to Medicine Hat and mainly driving in a rental with DH, but might be going with grandma for a few trips, and they are having safety city install her carseat in their car (a 98 buick something). I can teach DH to install with Latch in the rental, but not having seen their car in a while, I'd like an expert to do it...

Safety City is a miniature town set up with oversized trikes used as vehicles for the K - grade 2 crowd. It's meant to help kids learn the rules of the road, ect.

Are you talking about that Safety City? I wasn't aware they had techs on staff, let alone would help with CRS installs.

Hmm, that's what she said...I can't find any other resource in medicine hat...I know they got their seat "professionally" installed before, but have no idea who did it (this was before I became a CRST).

Ack, this is kind of freaking me out now...

The only Safety City I've heard of too, is the one Jen is describing. My DD went there on a field trip when she was in Kindergarten.

Does Medicine Hat have a St John's Ambulance?

Have her call there and ask if anyone there is certified. The southern AB instructor is based out of the Lethbridge office, so it's quite likely that they'll have at least one person on staff that is certified - assuming there is a SJA office there. I really don't know too much about locations when it comes to smaller cities/larger towns. :o

I've also only heard of the Safety City described by the others, so I really couldn't tell you what else she may be talking about.
