View Full Version : Please prune your attachments

We have reached the quota for attachments. I am going to raise it slightly for now.
If we reach the new limit, I will begin to remove attachments, starting with the largest and oldest ones. I will not be sending individual notices to members.
You can prune your own attachments in your User CP http://www.car-seat.org/profile.php?do=editattachments . If you have files, photos or videos that aren't relevant anymore, please delete them and save space for new ones!
Thank you!

No need to remove photos or documents that you refer to frequently, even if they are older or use a lot of space. Only remove the ones that you really don't need anymore.

What's an attachment?
If you click on the link posted above, it will show you if you have any attachments. I had one, a picture of my family from when I first joined on here. I have NO idea why it was even attatched to the thread that it was.

none here (thanks to photobucket and youtube). I just suck up all the bandwidth. :o
an attachment is when someone posts a picture or video and it shows up as a thumbnail that you can enlarge. It's stored on the server. You do it by clicking the paper clip icon in the advanced reply options. IMO, photobucket is way easier- and you're not limited to 3 per post.
adding: here's a post with attachments (http://www.car-seat.org/showpost.php?p=525085&postcount=1). You can find them from the forum thread list because they have a paperclip next to where the checkmark would be for subscribed threads.

I had 45. :o
I didn't realize that I could use them again, or erase them. I guess I thought that they magically disappeared.
Down to zero!

I'm down to zero. I wish I hadn't deleted the smiley that was whacking the other smiley in the rear w/ a stick. That was a good one. :(

Thanks for the link!
I was trying to figure out how to remove/delete them a while back but never followed through.
I deleted about 1/3 of mine, but left the helpful car seats ones.

I too do the samething this way it's not affecting CS.org. Plus it's easier for me to delete or move the picture when I want too.
