Does anyone have experience of using rear-facing 0-25kg seats in a VW Polo (5 door, 2006 model)? Are there any seats that do not render the front passenger seat useless by requiring it to be pushed all the way forwards? I am considering the Brio Zento, Maxi-Cosi Mobi or Britax Two-Way Elite but cannot test them in my car as I'm in the UK and will need to buy from Sweden. Thanks.

I've had my Britax Hi-Way installed in some smallish cars and it's been fine but a little tight for me personally. I'm quite tall so I need lots of leg room. It's been totally fine for my wife. It depends a little bit on how old your child is. A younger child needs to sit less upright and therefore the seat takes more space.

Is front seat installation possible for you? Can you deactivate your airbag manually with a key or switch. In that case, the front seat would be a good choice. It's as safe as the rear and also very convenient.

Polo is not a ultra small car so I wouldn't expect the front seat to be all the way forward unless you're installing the seat at some obscene angle.

I'm located in Sweden so let me know if you need any help with purchasing your seat.

Thanks Adventuredad,

I can't switch off the front airbag without going to a dealer. My daughter is 1 next week so is fine sitting upright. I found out about places to buy both the Two-way and Zento in the UK (although no stock at present), but only the Two-Way place is near enough to get to. I wonder if you can tell me if the two-way has side impact protection - it does not seem to have very deep side-wings? For this reason only I preferred the Zento, but as I'm unsure about installing it on my own, I'll probably go for the Two-Way. Do you know people who are happy with this seat in a small car?

Thanks again!
