no carseat!!

I was sitting out on my balcony today and watched a mom put her daughter who appeared to be under 1 year old in the front seat, no seatbelt or restraint of any kind. Get in next to her and drive off :eek: . I can't believe it. This woman lives in my building. What do I do next that will be most effective. I haven't checked to see if there is even a seat in the car yet, but you can believe that is on my to do list. BTW, I am in IL.
What do I do???

If I remember correctly, this is an IL-based site & Darren could probably help you out with specifics in your area.... I think he said once that in IL the CPST coordinator mails information to parents if you have the address :confused: Next time I'd call the police with her vehiclemake/model, color & lisence plate :o

Unfourtunately I wasn't in my car or I would have followed her and gotten all that information. I didn't think she would drive away. And I walked by her car this evening and there is a combination seat installed. Couldn't tell what kind, but I will check when it is light out. I don't know what unit she is in...maybe I could also post something at the front door.

That's a good idea :) There's cheap laminating sheets at Staples that you could "weatherize" some 1 page child passenger safety sheets with.... I'm guessing NHTSA & AAP would be a good place to start -- if you don't find anything useful, we could help you search :) (You might need approval from the landlord, though)
