Someone on another board told me that her family member owned three 3-in-1 seats and they all have 35 rf limit and they are CMVSS certified. Two are recently purchased w/in this month, but one she bought for the family member's child had DOM of Sept 2007.
If you have Cosco or Eddie Bauer, can you check the DOM and rf limit for me? Allport mentioned more seats with 35 lbs rf limit would be available soon, but I had no idea this soon :)
Thanks.

Tam - All the seats at my BRU have 30lb rf'ing limits. The DOM are all recent in the last 6mos, most of them newer than that because we sell display models while waiting for new stock. I've watched the Scenera at wal-mart and DOM in last 2mos is still max 30lbs rf'ing.
TBH, I don't expect the 35lb rf'ing limit until the redesign. And I'm hoping that we get the higher ff'ing weight limit too. :)
(Are they sure on the weight limits, and sure on the CMVSS - maybe they have US seats and just don't realize it?)

She was quite positive about this. She said they all had CMVSS sticker and saw the weight limit herself. And she bought one herself. But she is going to get me the serial numbers and DOMs for all three seats. I'm going to ask if she could tell me where they were bought too. Curious, isn't it?

Yeah, really really curious. I'll check the actual stickers on all the seats at work tomorrow since we have - eh, 4 different 3in1 models on the floor.
I'll look at the DOM too. That'll tell the story I'm guessing. (I did check the wal-mart AO just a few months ago too, and it was the new gray cover seat... it was still 30lbs on the sticker.) I'm just really doubtful of a new DOM with a 35lb rf'ing limit right now. It does make sense that the redesign will have the new limits, but it doesn't make too much sense for them to go through the certification, re-labeling, and doing up new manuals for a model of seat that's being redesigned though...

I know a little while back the paper tag on the Scenera listing the product name and weights said 5-35 lbs RF'ing but I checked the sticker on the actual seat and it said 5-30 lbs so maybe that is whats happened to her seats? I don't know how long that Cosco would be printing their tags with the wrong information.

I saw a few brand new eddie bauer seats at the last clinic, and they were all 30lbs (I try to point that out to parents so they know they can RF until that weight).

I know they are working on changing the weights back up to 35 pounds - maybe they have already? Can you get more information from the person - like the DOM and model number?

I already asked her to do that and waiting to hear back. I've asked her where they were purchased too.

I had time to check 2 of them tonight - april 2008 and dec 2007 DOM. Both of them had max 30lb rf'ing limits.
