Hi-

I have an 9 month old son in a britax decathlon, and we are expecting our second child this september. We have purchased a combi connection w/base. I am wondering what the safest scenario is for putting both carseats in this vehicle? The truck has a third row also. I plan on taking them to an inspection station, but I was wondering in advance what the options would be. Thanks in advance!

Both rear facing...doesn't matter a whole lot. I'd go with what's most convenient for mom :)
That's my 2 cents anyway.

If it were me, I'd put both children RF outboard in the 2nd row.

RF 5-point harness seats are the safest possible way to ride & if it helps with cooperation (& reduce stress) to have them both outboard then they'll be just fine that way ;)

I would also prefer to use the middle row for convenience, but I wonder if it might be more convenient to use the rear row if you also have other passengers frequently? Probably depends on whether or not you need to flip up/down part of the middle row to access the rear....

I have an '05 Chevy Tahoe so pretty much the same design set up. My Tahoe has caption chairs on the 2nd row not sure if you went with the full 2nd row or caption chairs. I would most likely put the infant driver outboard as they are easier to put in with an infant carrier. Plus it puts you on the street side when curb parking and you don't want to be in the street with traffic coming by you for a long length of time. This will put your older child curb side and will allow you to safely buckle him up out of harms way yourself.
