I have 2 kids: a 7 year old, 42 lb dd in a Britax Parkway and a 3 year old, 35 lb ds in a Graco Platinum Cargo.

The Cargo was our grandparent seat until my husband crashed our car (my ds was in a Marathon).

I am looking to replace the Cargo (to return the seat to my parents). I want a harnessed seat that can also be used as a booster. I often have my daughter and a friend on Fridays and it is silly to have an empty seat and carry an extra booster. We have a Honda Odyssey right now but will likely switch to a ford escape (hybrid) in the fall: so I want something pretty narrow. I thought about the Frontier, but it is a) wide and b) the recline bar needs to be in different positions for harnessed and booster mode (so harnessed and booster kids cant really use it at the same time). Does any CDN seat exist that will work?

thanks.....Ali

Nope... sorry. You need to take out the harness and uninstall the seat for booster mode on all the combo seats in Canada.

The Frontier is actually not that wide (just looks it)... it's the same width as our Marathon. The Parkway is also super narrow.

I'm guessing you could do Parkway, Frontier and just get a narrow backless booster for when you have a friend along.

The vehicle (Edge) you are talking about has head protection (head restraints) and will be newer with good safety ratings, that I'd be fine having a backless in the 'trunk' as a spare for when I need it.

You could also just switch whatever seat to booster mode for Friday's but that would be quite a bit of work and would eventually drive you crazy. ;) :D
