car seat in 07 Nissan Murano

I have a 07 Nissan Murano, I want to put the baby's car seat in the middle (where I believe is the safest location). The top latch is near the cargo door and the strap that needs to go there does not reach. Does anybody have any suggestions or knows how else I can put the car seat in the middle.

Can you give us a bit more information, please? What seat are you using? How old and how heavy is the child in question?
