After reading the thread on short-strapped Radians, I checked mine, and sure enough, I have short straps. I sent an email to Russ, whose name and email I got on here, and while he did reply very quickly, the options he gave me are: a) return the seat where I got it, or b) ship it to the distributor in Vancouver at my expense.

First, I bought it last August at Canadian Tire. CT no longer carries the Radian, so I would not be able to exchange it. Secondly, I can't find my receipt which means that if they did take it back, I'd only get $99 for it (last sale price). I paid $189.

Secondly, ship it to Vancouver at my expense? Um, no. Plus I'd be without a seat for at least a week.

Aaaargh. Does anyone have any suggestions for my next move? Honestly, I'd be happy with just a new strap, but I understand it's bolted to the seat and can't be removed.

Thanks for you help,
Jane

I think that somebody may have talked Russ into shipping the replacement seat with a hold on their credit card until the old one was received back. I'm not sure how they're going about it anymore though...

Unfortunately, SK is not offering owners any other recourse regardless of price paid and because the short straps don't pose a safety risk, Transport Canada is unable to force them to do anything to remedy the situation either.

So aside from the options they've given you, and asking about the other possibility I mentioned, there's really nothing you can do other than join the "I hate sunshine kids and will never buy another product from them." band wagon that a lot of people who experienced this problem have joined.

Sorry I don't have better news for you. :(
