Last Old Model SnugRide Base

Does anyone know when the last SR base with the knob recline adjuster was made? I will be watching a three month old in a few weeks and a family who I sit for (trust them a lot... I know the seat was well cared for) says they have one of these seats. Their son was born at the end of '03, but the pictorial says that they stopped making them in '02.

I know I will have to look at the actual manufacturing date but since I don't have the seat with me yet, I was wondering if anyone knew if the pictorial was wrong or when in '02 they stopped making them. Is there any chance this seat isn't expired?

2002 would be correct because they never had LATCH on the old style base. For the first part of 2002, they had the old style base and the new style with no LATCH, then in September of 02 switched to the new base with LATCH.

So, there is a chance this seat still has a couple of months. I shall remain optimistic and hope they got one made at the end of August!

I believe Graco shells are stamped with "Do not use after Dec 20XX". If it was a 2002, it can technically be used until the end of the year.

This is even better news! Thanks so much hopefully I will be able to pick the seat up this week and it was made in 2002.
