HOORAY!! I finally got my successful 3 across install for the boys!!:D But I noticed that DS2 is slightly above the 2nd slots, do I need to move him to the top slots or is it OK for him to be right at or slightly above??? Here are the pics I could get today, plus some of the install.:)
Please note that DS4 in the middle is NOT FF:), I just did his MA this way for the install pic of 3 across. He will remain RF outboard on the second row.;)

OOPS, please excuse the chocolate on Calebs face, they stayed with grandma while I played with my carseats.:o

Even in the Radian, the only time his shoulders can be above the slots is on the top slot. I wouldn't call that at- it looks to me like the straps are angling upward in the second picture. I think it's time to move them up.

I think you should move them up. When in doubt, move 'em up. :)

I agree with the PP's. They should go up!

Darn.:( I knew that was going to happen. His seat was a PAIN to get a solid install with. He is on the side with the fixed belt stalk and it took me over 1 hr to get it solid, not to mention busting a nail and just about breaking my finger. Well, lets go play musical seats again! Thanks ladies for the input.

Is Jacob over 40 lbs? If so, can't they switch sides? just put him in the blue one since that's where he needs his harness and redo the gray one for Caleb? that should at least work temporarily until you need to uninstall them both for something else.

I thought about doing that too.:) But when I mentioned to Caleb about sitting in Jacobs seat it was a NO GO! He specifically asked for the blue seat NOT the black seat is what he told me. No worries. Gives me a total body workout that I otherwise would not get. Expecially in my legs and back!:p

Hmm, neither one of the boys are over 40lbs yet. Will that make a difference in something? I have yet to sit down and read through the whole manual yet.:o Enlighten me, please. I chose the Radians since they tested so well without a tether and there are no tether outboard on the 3rd row.:(

Below 40lbs, when using a top tether, you need to add the SafeStop. No top tether, No safestop... you're fine... as long as the SafeStop is *not* on the seat. :)

Putting the seat in the second time will be easier than the first, you already know how it works. :)

Straps definitely need to be moved up.

Thanks! I removed both Safestops off the seats and stored them with the tethers. So they will be fine til they outgrow the seat, right?:)

you have already gotten all the advice you need. But did you notice there is a spot where you can hang your safestop? Then tuck it in under the fabric?

not sure if that is what you meant when you say you stored it with your tethers. this isn't a good pic but it gives you the idea.

Thanks Misty.:) I put my safestop like that on the Granite, but my older Coastal cover doesn't have nothing there but a tag so I put it in the glove box for now.

I didn't even consider that they might not be tethered (or that neither boy was 40 lbs). I should have known about the tethers given the positions they're in. :o Yes, I was referring to the safestop.

May I ask what vehicle you have? I may have to fit 4 kids in my minivan and do a 3 across!

No worries and thanks! ;) I read up on alot of threads here before buying the RN's so I could even see if they would install good or not.:) I got some great tips on getting them rock solid, expecially the one about getting it as tight as I could, unbuckling it and let the ARL belt go back a notch or two then putting all my weight in it to clip it back!:D That worked like a charm to get them rock solid! I am just thrilled to have some room on my 2nd row again and more seating options without having to compromise safety for space, KWIM.:)
