I like the Graco SafeSeat 1 and the Chicco KeyFit.


The Chicco is a breeze to install, easy to use, comfy for kids, and comfortable to carry.

The Graco is easy to install, easy to use, comfortable to carry, and fits kids for a LONG time.

For a teeny baby I'd go with a Keyfit (which is what I am leaning towards since my last was 4lb14oz when we brought her home from the hospital).

For a bigger newborn I'd go with the Safeseat simply because I believe it lasts them longer in height.

Ditto keyfit and safeseat.

I actually don't particularly like the snugride... next to the KF and SS1, installing it is a pain. And I've had angle issues with it at some checks. But it's still a decent seat. And adorable covers.

I have only had experience with the keyfit when doing respite for another foster family. I LOVED it! It was easy to install without the base (long story), the baby with many needs was very comfortable and happy in it.
