View Full Version : Help with Regent install in Honday Odyssey
I am having the hardest time getting my twins Regents installed in my '05 Honda Odyssey now that they've past the 40-lb mark and I can't use the long-belt path anymore. I have tried it in all of the seats (captain's chair in second row, outboard and center in the third row), and I just can't get it in well, even with the belt stalk twisted three times. Have others had this struggle? I'm ready to sell them, which is incredibly frustrating and upsetting since I was hoping to keep the kids harnessed until they outgrew the Regents.
Also, if it does turn out to be an incompatibility, I was thinking of trying out the Britax Frontier . . . how does the install of the Frontier compare to the Regent?
Thanks!

did you try to recline the captains chairs while installing and getting them tight then putting the seats back upright? I have had to do that in few vehicles and it works pretty well.
No, I haven't tried that, thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully if it works, it will also work in the third row (which can recline slightly) since I'd love to keep my RF 1-yo in one of the captain's chairs.
Thanks!

I've been able to get rock solid SBP installs in both captain's chairs and the middle of the 3rd row in my 05 Ody. :) It was not without struggle but they are solid as heck. The seat recline trick really helps.

Like others stated recline the seat then install the Regent like you would if the seat was in the upright position but DO NOT top tether. Once you have the seat belt at tight as you can get it now put the vehicle seat back into the upright postion. Now you should have a solid install (no more then 1" side to side or front to back). Once the install is acceptable now top tether the Regents.
