I have a honda pilot and a Graco Nautilus. I have tried using the latch and I have tried using the seat belt. I can not get a tight fit at all. It wiggles more then the 1inch allowed. The seat is being used in the outbound passenger side. I have tired putting an anti slide matt under it, no luck. I am 160llb I put both my knees in the seat and all my weight is on the seat while I pull the slack out of the seat belt. When I feel I have pulled all the slack out, I pull the rest of the seat belt out so when it retracts, the seat belt locks, then I get off. I do have a britax wizard and Regant and they are not moving an inch. I am thinking of getting the britax frontier to see if that is a better fit. I love this car seat but unable to get a tight install.

I had the same issues with my nautilus in my accord. I had a marathon previously. I can't get it in rock tight like my marathon but I am satisfied with the install. What I do is put all my weight into the seat after the seatbelt has locked. I pull at the buckle to get the lap part as tight as I can. Then feed the extra shoulder belt up. I just keep working on it until I get it pretty tight. Even an extra click in the seatbelt can make the difference. Then I test my install with ONE hand as I was instructed on here. It moves less than an inch. Now if I tug aggressively (which is what I was doing ) with both hands, the front of the seat will move but the back stays pretty tight.

Have you tried twisting the female end of the buckle?

I've installed the Nautilus in all three second-row positions of the Pilot and have always gotten a fantastic install.
After you buckle the seat belt, lock it before you pull it tight. (It could be that it's loosening between the time you tighten it and the time you lock it.)
Make sure you're tightening the belt by pulling right next to the latchplate (where it buckles), not just the part that goes into the ceiling/retractor. After you pull the shoulder portion as tight as you can at the latchplate, use your other hand to feed the slack back into the retractor.
Also, make sure you're checking for tightness only at the belt path.
Short of that, I'm not sure what the problem might be. Maybe make sure it's completely upright (not reclined at all). I'm not sure if that would affect it, but I've always done it completely upright.
