I just moved #4 out of her SR and into the BLVD. She is almost 5 mo old, about 16 lbs and was right at too tall for the SR (just over an inch of hard shell). It is installed drivers side outboard in an 04 suburban with the seat belt. (The blanket on the seat is an old very thin receiving blanket - I know this is not optimal, but is a parental decision, as in my last car, the kids spilled something sticky and I did not know it, and sometime later when I went to take the seat out, it tore a hole in my leather seats)

Is this too upright? I did not think so, but it almost looks like it. The picture was taken on level ground.
It is tethered to the bracket that bolts the console to the floor.
here she is in the seat

And cause the other 2 were left out (and i love to show my kids :))

Sorry, I actually have a question about your amber teething necklace - do you remember what size it is? The site I was going to order from has a smallest size of 12-12.25". I'm trying to order ones for my 18 mth-old and my 4 yr-old and want to make sure I order the right sizes!

Not a tech, but it looks good to me.
Do you know that the HUGS can be removed while she's RF? That will help getting her harness a bit snugger - it looks a tad bit loose to me.

Jessica, the BLVD does look a tad upright, but if she is able to keep her head from flopping, you should be fine.
I do have a concern about your oldest. She's just barely got enough whiplash protection. Ideally, the headrest is at the top of the ears, but it looks like she might be getting pretty tall to be in that spot. It could be the way she's holding her head, but it looks like if she put her head back she might be a little tall.

It's fairly upright, but within the appropriate range. It's fine as long as her head doesn't slump when she sleeps. If you do find you need it more reclined, push the base as close to the seat bight as you can and push down over where her bottom goes as you tighten the belt.
What van is that?
Is the top of the BLVD touching the headrest? Check your owner's manual and make sure that's okay. Some vehicles don't allow it.
You need to have both belt portions through the far lock-off.
Other than that, it looks fine as long as it moves less than 1" in any direction at the beltpath.

What cute kids!! and a good mom to look after their safety....
For baby in the boulevard, it doesn't look too upright from the picture, 30-45 degree recline is what you look for, older the child the closer to 30--you can glance at the red line (on the other side of the base) and make sure it is parallel. Her harness needs to come from at or below her shoulders...it looks snug. Sounds like you found a good tether point. The seat belt should be locked by the lock offs on the seat or at the retractor.
Cute girl in the pink britax...should have the harness coming from at or slightly above her shoulders since she is facing forward.
The oldest looks tall to me...her headrest needs to be really behund her head, and I can't tell if it is.
The absolute BEST suggestion is to find a tech in your area and let them put their live eyeballs and hands on the seats...you can look one up near you at www.nhtsa.gov and click on the link to find one.
Way to buckle up everyone and make sure it's right!

I thought that too. And I can't tell if it's her pants or the seatbelt that I can see at the bottom. If it's the seatbelt, it's riding a bit high on her tummy.

It actually is tight, I know that picture looks lose. I know they can come off for RF, but DH seems to do a much better job getting the chest clip in the right place (not a belly clip) if they are on - does it hurt anything to leave them on?

I looked at that for a long time too. At first I thought it was the pants, but now that I look again, it might be a the seatbelt. She might be a candidate for a new spot in the car, or a hbb.

Her head doesn't seem to flop, but I have only had in it for 2 days, so we will see.
I am really struggling what to do with our oldest. She is really tall (4'8") but only just barely 70 lbs (and is almost 10). She out grew the HBB this winter and i had her in just the seat belt, but it really moves up on her belly, so I put her in a turbo booster about a month ago. The head rest does go up a notch or 2 more. She fits the same way in the middle row passenger seat.
Any suggestions, I am really open to any ideas?? (I would prefer not to put her back in a HBB - she is really against it and DH may have a heart attack if I buy another seat :))

Its her pants (they are baseball pants - we were headed to the game). The seat belt fits nice across her thighs

Its a Suburban, it does not say anything in the manual about the car seat touching the seat, IIRC, but I will check - but the seat moves way forward when I drive, which is why I don't tether to the seat.
I will move both pieces under the lock-off. I did not know that, I have never installed it rear facing with a shoulder belt before :).
It is very solid and does not move at all

Thanks!
For the regent, the harness is comming from the slot closest above her shoulders. The holes in this cover seem to be fairly off from the shell. The next lowest ones are just under her shoulders.
There is not a tech within a 3 hour drive. We live REALLY out in the middle of no where. It over an hour drive to a town with a groc store and a pop over 1000, and a 3 hour drive to a mid sized city (Spokane or tri-cities WA).

It's hard to see for sure in the pic, but it looks like the bottom of the harness isn't completely threaded. Or maybe that's just the tag sticking out, I'm not sure? Just in case, make sure it's threaded like this:

they work believe it or not.. I got one cause I have TMJ that has been flaired up terribly lately and I am wicked pregnant and cant take anything for the inflamation.. I started wearing mine and didnt think anything about it.. then one day I forgot to wear it and my jaw was killing me.. I put it on later and slowly it felt better, I did it again yesterday (not wearing it, my jaw was getting sore by the end of the day... and I had a headache.. I put it back on and slowly both started to feel better)
I love them!

I *think* it is just the tag, but I will check in a few when I got there. I have never taken the harness all the way off, soit should be as it was new.

When I had Jack's hugs off I stored them under the car seat cover by the manual so that I did not lose them. It makes it alot easier when you need to find them for FF.

Have you looked into the Sunshine kids Montery (holds 30 - 120lbs and 38" – 63") or the Britax Monarch (For children 30-100 lbs and 38-60 in)? Both are HBB. Here are the links to the seats...http://www.albeebaby.com/britax-monarch-booster-car-seat-pink-racer.html and http://www.elitecarseats.com/Sunshine-Kids-Monterey.pro?source=shopping&kw=102814PINKGRAY0&zmam=6024774&zmas=8&zmac=75&zmap=102814PINKGRAY0 (the Montery also comes in pink/grey) I loooked into these for my almost 11 year old, but she is a little bit to tall for them...she is alreay 100 pounds and 5 foot tall. I was told by a tech that the Sunshine Kids and Britax boosters are the only seats that you can go over the weight limit.
