My husband had a heck of a time getting this installed, so I do hope it's right!! He couldn't get it tightened enough for awhile-even with me in the seat on my knees, but finally did. There is very little movement at the belt path. The base is not into the back of the seat, is that a problem? We have easy access to the knobs, too. Anyway, please let me know, thanks!

From your pictures, I think it looks fine.

The base looks like it is fully on the seat, which is what is important. :)

I think it looks okay, too. As long as it moves less than 1" in any direction at the beltpath, you should be all set. :)

just curious- what vehicle is that?

Looks good to me to! Just a thought though, I have heard that in the summer heat that the plastic shelf linner can melt to the seat & ruin it. So you might want to take that out, or keep a really close eye on it. I just thought I would share that info!

Hi, thanks.

It's a 2004 Infiniti FX35. Excuse the stuff in it-hadn't cleaned it out from shopping yet...

The shelf liner lasted through last summer, so I think we're ok. But I will keep an eye on it!

We are looking at getting this seat as soon as DD3 outgrows her RA rf by height which I keep thinking will be soon but then I installed a little more upright and she seems to have more shell now, so maybe a little longer. Anyway, I was wondering how you like it, are the knobs easy to work in the rf mode?

Those knobs are the one thing that worried me about this seat. But, I tried them out last night, and they are GREAT. I have plenty of room to turn them, and they are just SO easy. I knew I didn't want tug tug tug straps, so that's a huge reason I chose this seat! I love the look of it, and she seems really comfy. Like I said before, though, it wasn't really easy to install, so we won't be moving it around unless we have to! I'll let you know if I have any problems with it.

BTW, I got it off of ebay. DOM 11-16-07, exp. 12-31-13. I decided it was worth the risk because the seller takes returns. It's still in the original box, etc., never been opened. So I am happy happy!

Thanks, we need to try it out before ordering anywhere, we are getting a new to us old van with one sliding door and middle row captains chairs that you cannot move back, we tried our RA behind the driver because a rf seat behind passenger means that the older kids would have to climb under, it fits fine but then she is going to outgrow it before too long rf so I tried the MA which is what we were hoping to move her to since we already have one, it did not fit without the driver eating the dash, so I'm thinking get the EFTA for our car and hoping it takes up less room front to back rf and give the MA to my parents, I was hoping to do the opposite since you can tehter the MA rf but oh well whatever works.

Didn't know if I should post another thread with this question-the cover seems pretty loose to me in the front, near the harness. Is this normal? Is her weight just supposed to squish it down? Don't know how to explain it...but thanks if you understand!

Was the front of the cover unhooked when routing the belt and maybe not attached back down?

Whatever the case may be, it's not a safety risk for it to just be a little loose.

Is the seat installed with LATCH? I found for tightening the LATCH belt if you tuck the tail up so that it's parallel to the belt it tightens better - also pull the belt snug on the adjuster side so that all the slack is right there to pull out. I know I've read of others having some difficulty, but I've never had any using that method.

To the person asking about front seat space - the EFTA definitely takes up less room than the MA - even at a 45* angle it's quite compact.
Here's a link to a pic with it installed upright: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3280/2444666586_c4608fcea3.jpg?v=0

The front seat is able to go all the way back and be a little reclined, and there's still a couple inches clearance between the seat and seatback. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y194/snowbird25ca/compass%20true%20fit/DSC01365.jpg

Thanks snowbird.

I didn't see a hook for the front of the cover, i'll have to look again.

Yes, it's installed with LATCH. The seatbelts in our car are really hard to work with, so we didn't even try it. I'll have to remember your advice if/when we have to install it again & see if it helps! He just really had a hard time getting it tight enough, but finally figured something out (while I was inside feeding DD)!
