I'm happy to have it:) but what a PIA!! we had a heck a time getting a good angle (which I hope is right) and getting the belt to sit in the center of the lock offs, it wanted to slide to the top which in turn made it so you couldn't close them. But we did get it closed. The strap to tighten and release the harness is really ahrd to get at:thumbsdown: I can slip my habd in it but I don't think dh can. It's funny b/c when you slide your hand down to lossen it your kind of "pinning" the strap and it can't be pulled loose. So I have to stuff the strap down with my hand and then lossen it and feed it along until it's loose enough (I hope that makes sence)
anyways here are the pics. Techs please tell me if the angle is ok, I think it is and ds is 18m so he dosen't need the 45 angle. Install is in a 96 ford explorer
(we used a pool noodle it's the flat ones;))
this is what the belt looks like by the crotch strap, it's not inter fearing but it's really close

I can totally see the harness adjustor being a pain with flat seat backs! Our seats are very contoured and we have just enough room to get our hands in.

There was a suggestion on another thread for loosening the harness. Try just pushing down on the clip right next to the edge of the True fit rather than reaching in and pulling up next to the car's seat back. It moves the clip up with out having to actually grab hold of it. It worked really slick for me.

yes, thanks for that. That is about the only thing you can do to get it loosened. do you guys think the angle is ok?

Re: angle - you can probably even get by without the pool noodle (if it still falls at/shy of 30degrees) for an 18m old, because it looks like there's a slight lean to the seat? I know some techs hate leans (hi Trudy!) but I find that if there's a really slight lean, it usually means that your child's head will roll towards that direction versus slump. You'll have to try your baby out in the car and see how it goes, though.
BTW--did you check your French labels to see if your seat is also mislabeled? I suspect they're ALL mislabeled, but you never know.

:p
For the record, it's only my only seats that any small bit of a lean bugs me. Seats that are obviously going to lean more and more within a short period of time at seatchecks I'll put a locking clip on, but otherwise I'm ok with instructing the parent on what to do and taking a wait and see approach.
(Just clarifying because I don't want anyone to think that their seat with a slight lean that isn't going anywhere is unsafe. ;))

Yes, that was the one! And thankd you for that tip!Heh-heh, I was almost hoping it was a different thread with another tip for me to try with one of our Tfs! :) It works great for one, but the one in our vehicle seems to have a stiffer release and although reaching the top is easy, it's very hard to push. I really hope it loosens up!

to me it seems that it's really not leaning at all. maybe with time it will start to tip?
I had to shorten the harness to it's shorter setting, I was finiding that it was hard to get nice and tight. it seems better now but it's sure a huge PIA to pull the strap to tighten, even with helping it along with my hand in the back. I guess it's something I will just have to deal with until he's forward facing.
