ACKKK! Frontier not coming til Aug???

If I'm reading right, is the Frontier not arriving til Aug??

If so, I'm in a bit of a quandary...

Ds #1 is tall...I THINK (if I measured correctly) He's about 16.5 - 17 " long torso (keep in mind he's JUST over 4 years old).
He weighs about 43 lb and is aroudnd 43.5 " tall.

As you know, I've had trouble with the Radian short straps. It fits him great except for that issue. I tried and tried to shove him in it, it's just NOT working.

Well hubby picked up a second True Fit (we're keeping one for sure for my littlest man - my two year old).

I Thought I had things figured out, but I didn't realize it would be another two months until the Frontier gets to Canada.

So....currently he's in a HB Graco TB. He's not AWFUL in it, but hey, he's still four years old and forgets sometimes, you know?

I am wondering if we should keep both True Fits (he can fit in, but there's not much room for growth, particularly at the crotch...)

What would you all do in my place? Keep him in the HB TB???
Or use the True Fit for a few months, then get the Frontier too?
We are likely having a third, so I COULD pass the True Fit on to that child.
But, money isn't exactly free flowing here either, and it would be a tight squeeze right at the moment.

I guess it all depends on if C.Tire helps me out and takes the Radians back. That would free up another $450 and by god that would help!

I'm really stuck between a rock and a hard place here.

I don't want my son to be unsafe...

You don't have to tell me what to do, maybe just tell me what YOU'D probably do and then I can process all that.

Sigh....I know I am kind of neurotic about car seats and safety...but isn't that better than the parents who don't care?

I was just wondering if you smaller guy could still use the Radian if the store wont take it back...at least until the frontier comes out? Or does he not fit in it either?

Or..can't you use the Radian for your youngest, and the TF for your oldest for now?

Yes, that's one of the thoughts I had too (which is why I said ds #1 COULD fit in the True Fit).
I'm just wanting to get him *(my two year old) RF again too.... (The Radian, which other than the short strap error- I actually really like it BUT was a beast to get RF in our Corolla. ) I did manage to keep him that way for 19 months and 22 lb, and couldn't take it anymore (a new vehicle is in the forecast, likely for next year, but wasn't a possibility a year ago).

Would you think the RF would be more important, for my light weight 2 year old, or getting my 43 lb 43" tall four year old back in a 5 pt harness?

Totally depends on the kids. If your son is moving out of position in the booster, then 100% he is NOT ready. In that case, FF a 2 year old and ensuring that your 4 year old is properly restrained would probably be more ideal (well, second to having another seat) vs risking that your son will be out of position in a crash. At least then both of them are properly restrained, even if your 2 year old is in a less ideal orientation. I personally would either make the Radian work RF or get another seat, though...but if you don't think those options are feasible, I'd take a FF 2 year old and restrained 4 year old who clearly cannot sit properly in a booster over a RF 2 year old and a 4 year old too immature in a booster.
