Using the trains in Germany? What about car seats?

We are moving to Germany soon and will be traveling back and forth on the trains 1-2 times a month. Do the trains have seatbelts there? If not, is there something I can use?
I will have a 2 yr old and 6 yr old at the time we use the trains.

I lived in Germany a couple of years and don't recall seeing any seatbelts. Are you asking about the strausse or the actual trains? I rode the strausse several times a week and dont believe I ever saw a seatbelt. I rode the train infrequently and dont recall seatbelts. Most parents just hold their kids, let them sit on the seat, or let them hold on to the polls. the strausse is an extremely safe transportation option. I frequently took my 3 year old sis all around with me and she jsut sat next to me. very smooth rides.

I haven't made it to Germany yet (we live in Northern Italy) but the trains that I have been on here have no seatbelts. Some of the tour busses do, but the belts were just lap belts and didn't lock (and I didn't have a belt shortening clip handy), not really meant for installing a car seat. I have no problem taking my kids on the trains (they are 9, 7, and 4). It's got to be safer than driving here!

Will you need car seats at your destination? You can probably just carry the car seat/booster seat on the train.

We will be traveling from Bavaria to an hour from the Frane border. My sister is also moving to Germany around that same time. LOL.
I am not sure what we will take as far as the trains go.

We will have to take the seats with us. Thansk for the info.

The trains do not have seat belts (at least I haven't seen any). Wil you be using public transportation the whole time? or when you reach your destination will you be travelling in your own car (or your friends/sisters, etc)? If you are travelling with public transportation, not just buses and trains, but taxes too, car seats are not required.
