View Full Version : Happy with our EFTAs
On the advice of several people here in the forums (thank you everyone!), we went ahead and bought 2 EFTAs (Evenflo Triumph Advances) for our 1-year-old sons. They were fairly easy to install via seatbelt, and the boys seem to be quite comfortable in them. I'm fairly happy we only had to spend $150 for each seat. They're very nice looking, also; my wife says she wants an adult-sized one for herself. :D
(Note that the head cushion isn't installed in the first photo; the picture was taken after our ride home from the store, and I had forgotten to install it.)

Hi,
Cool! They look great and are SO adorable. Seriously, you have some pretty cute kids there.
Now just to make sure (since I can't tell for certain) the harness needs to be at or below their shoulders for rear facing. (at or above for forward facing).
And just to be sure...
You have the sseatbelt fed through the rear facing belt path? (it will be under their feet so to speak),
and since you've used the seatbelt, do you have it locked manually, or are you using a locking clip, or do your seatbelts lock at the latchplate?

Oh they sure are cuties. :D They look very comfy in there and looks like the seats fit them really well.
The head pillow is optional, so if you don't want to use it you don't have to. I have ours out at the moment as it seems like my ds is more comfortable that way.
I'd love a nice comfy chair like the EFTA too. Both my kids acted like it was a great big lazy boy chair when we bought ds's. LOL

The red tabs that you see at the shoulders in the pictures in the harness height. The EFTA has an infinite adjust harness and you just slide it so it's even with their shoulders when you put them in. So it's always the exact perfect height, never below and never above, always even with the EFTA.
Thanks... I think they're super cute as well, but ya never know if that's just you being a parent or if others see them the same way. :)
The harnesses are at shoulder-height, the seatbelt is through the rear-facing belt path, and the seat belt is locked with locking clips. It initially took me a while to get the Graco SnugRides installed that they were using previously, but I got very proficient at it from moving them between our car and grandma and grandpa's car. I found that installing the EFTAs was very straight forward.

Trudy,
I knew about the infinite adjust, I just wasn't sure about the "level" with idea. Makes sense though. Sort of like the BV. Now are there actual notches or does it just randomly sit where you slide it? With that in mind, is it a snug as a hug harness that keeps it that way... I mean if there aren't any notches what keeps it in place? A snug harness I'm guessing. Very cool though. I'm debating the EFTA or the CTF as a baby gift for that cousin of mine (you know, the used SR thread you helped me with last night).

It just sits where you slide it and the harness being tightened properly keeps it in position. It's really cool actually. :)
(I will add that when the harness is properly tightened you could still force the red tabs slightly down or slightly up, but nobody is going to be forcing the harness up or down in a collision, and any slight movement up would be completely counteracted by the harness pulling tighter on the legs which would prevent ramping, so there is no safety risk at all.)
Sorry I'm no help deciding between the 2 just yet since I haven't seen a True Fit IRL. I will say that we love our EFTA though. I bought it as soon as it arrived at Sears here and haven't regretted it at all. Fits both kids great, is super comfy, and installs easily both directions in all 2nd row seating positions. Can't really ask for much more.
