GN part question

Okay this may sound like a very funny question. So we are putting together our GN and there is a part with the owners manual. It is a piece of strap with a red oval plastic thing at one end with an opening. the other end is a loop in the strap. What is this piece used for, I don't see it in the instructions.

It's a seatbelt adjustor for when you use the seat as a backless booster.

Put it away someplace safe. They have a habit of disappearing.

thank you very much for the quick reply. plus I remember something being posted about the padding thing on the bottom/ back of the seat. Since my children are 3, this should be taken out? This is correct right?

If they're over the bottom slots, the extra padding must be removed - yes.

is it ok to leave that extra piece hooked on to the seat in the back. i am afraid if i take it off it will get lost. i am horrible at keeping track of those types of things. i tied it to the lath strap on the back of the seat since i am not using the latch i use the seatbelt to install the seat. is this ok.

It should be fine to store it there on the unused LATCH strap, as long as it doesn't interfere with the installation.
