Due to the advice on here today i have switched one of my carseats - i put my 17 month old rear facing in a boulevard - she is 27 lbs - my 5 year old in only 28lbs but she is too tall to be rear facing (plus she would not go for that at this point!) my question is: someone said it does not have to be at a 45 degree angle for bigger kids which i need because the boulevard is so big i cannot recline much more - I think it is close but i would like everyone to see pictures and let me know if I have done Ok with these 2 seats. How do you post pictures?
Thank you

Kudos to you for turning your 17 month old back to rear facing. You can upload your photos to a free photo hosting site like photobucket.com, and then post the link to your photobucket album here, and/or post the [IMG] link for each picture in your photobucket album here.

I hope this is right! i only know how to copy and paste pictures - this IMG thing is new to me! Firts picture is the rear facing for the 17 mo old, the second picture is the front facing for my 5 year old.

I get approx. 37 degrees--Looks good! Congrats on returning her to rear-facing:thumbsup:

I can't tell from the picture--Is the top tether attached to your forward facing seat?

yes the tether on the front facing is attached to the back of the seat, the tether on the rear facing is attached to that extra clip which i wrapped around the seat bolt in the floor (there are no tether anchors for rear facing in the middle row of a caravan - or not that i could find anyway) Yeah! i am glad they are right! She will just have to get used to being rear facing again but she had only used the boulevard for one day forward facing and with the side impact wings she couldn't really see much anyway.

Is there something behind your FF Boulevard. I see something white in the seat bight. What is it?

FF seat is tethered - you can see it in the top pic.

For the RF seat, you cannot tether to the seat that the carseat is on. (Used to be able to, Britax doesn't allow it anymore).

If that's a Dodge Caravan or similar - if you slide the drawer under the passenger seat forward, there's a metal bar behind it that works great for RF tethering.

ITA with everything Teri said, and I just wanted to add that you need to remove that towel from the FF seat. :)

ok, so remove towel from front facing and tie the extra tether strap to the metal bar behind the drawer?

ok - towel is gone and i attached the tether on the RF to that bar under the drawer (man was that hard to get to!) i made my husband go out there with me and a flashilgiht - I think he thinks I am a little obsessed - I told him wait until tomorrow until i try to put the marathons back in his F150! I really appreciate all the help - i would have never known most of this - especially tethering to the rwong places - the manual with the caravan does not give an rear facing tether points.

I just want to say WTG for turning your 17 month old back RF again! I turned my DS back RF from FF at 16 months & he could have cared less. I bet your DD will not care either! Your installs look great to me since you fixed the two slight problems! Great Job Momma!

Thats the only girly pattern they have right now - I wanted to get one in the Meghan print but they are only at BRU for $300 - I got these on amazon for $264 and then 20% when you buy 2 plus $30 off if you get a amazon visa - so they come out to $212 each plus free shipping - I couldn't pass it up - I am having someone make covers though that are so heavy - these are like a fleece - I think they will sweat. I have to get my marathons back into my husbands F150 tonight after the baby goes to bed - so i am sure i will need more suggestions after I post pictures!

Just a FYI, you can't use aftermarket covers . They aren't safe and Britax most definately does not allow it. You may be suprised, your kiddos may not have any issues with sweating in those seats. My son use to ride in a plush BV and he didn't sweat anymore in that seat than any others (and he sweats alot in general:)).

Oh, I did not know that - thank you for the info!

My youngest rode all last summer in a RF Blvd. with the Shannon cover in my van, and a Blvd. with the Park Ave. cover in DH's car (a Saturn L100 until mid/late summer last year, traded for a Scion xB later in the summer), and she didn't have any profuse sweating/overheating issues. Although I'm in Michigan, it does get hot here in the summer, and at times pretty humid, too. :) I'm actually about to reinstall the Blvd. FF in my van today because DD2 just reached the RF weight limit of 35 lbs. in her Recaro convertibles. She almost made it to age 3 rear facing - she'll be 3 in late June. While I'm bittersweet about having to turn her FF, it will be fun to see a Shannon Blvd. in my rear view mirror. Go purple! ;)

On the sweating - DD had that exact same seat cover and never had a problem. I don't notice any difference between it and another cover that is less plush. We regularly see 110+ temperatures here and she was still RF when using that seat so your girls really should be just fine.

Also  for turning back RF. DD was turned back at almost 2 (thanks to the valuable info on this site) and never had an issue.

OMG those girls are so pretty in their pink dresses!!!! What little sweethearts!
The Shannon cover is totally my personality. Idk, the colors just fit me. And the girls like them because they're girly. And I'm definitely in the process of getting a friend to buy a Blvd just because the cover is named after her, LMBO!
