I currently have a 2006 town and country and my dd is in a regent. My dd is currently 36 lbs, so i am just thinkign ahead right now, i am not changing her until she is the 40 lbs. But i know once they hit the 40 lbs i have to move to the short belt path. Also i know that with my vehicle i can use Latch to 48 lbs. I also know that the regent requires you to use the versa teether once they reach 50 lbs. but isn't that rated to only 48 lbs. I am so confused. If i am thinking correctly doesn't that make this seat no good once they reach 50, if you are required to use the teether at 50 lbs, but you can no longer use it once they are over 48. Please help.

Most vehicles top tethers have weight limits and you are right, the Regent requires a top tether after 50 lbs! Confusing!!!! Current recommendations are that you continue to use the top tether even though the vehicle has a weight limit on the tether. with the Regent you must use the top tether anchor.

This web site gives a good explanation of why we recommend tethering even beyond the stated tether limits.
