Does anyone know if the bases and seats are interchangable between the KeyFit and the KeyFit30? Could I use a KeyFit base with a KeyFit30 carrier?

No, sorry. You can't use a KF30 carrier with a KF22 base.

Does it matter when they were made?

The extra bases that are sold separately say they are for use only with the KF (4-22lbs.) and the KF 30 (4-30 lbs). It seems like now they would be interchangeable unless the extra bases are different than what's sold with the KF 22.

So you're saying there are two different extra bases on the market, or only one that claims to be ok for both? :confused:

They sell one base now. You can use it for the 22 or the 30. You cannot use the OLD 22 only base with the Keyfit 30 though. The new base has a label that clearly states you can use it with the 30. The OLD base does not have that label because it can only be used with the 22. Clear as mud, right...ha ha.

Also the old 22 bases will not fit the new 30 carriers. So, That should also help the confusion too.

The new 30 bases are interchangable but we have to be good at reminding parents that their carrier is only good to 22lbs if they have the 22lb carrier. That sticker might make parents think their carriers can be used to 30lbs too.

To be honest I just wish Chicco would do away with the 22lber since the price is only $10 difference.
