Recycle old car seat???

Any suggestions as to what to do with the used car seat we just took out of our vehicle? It's still in great condition & has never been in a collision. I've heard that parents are advised not to use "used" car seats but we don't know what to do with it from here.:confused::)

how old is it and what is it? usually there is a 6 year expiration but not always.

if its past the expiration date, you must destroy it (some say cut straps, remove cover and mark all over teh seat that its expired..some cut the base up and ive read to put it in a black garbage bag so others cant see what it is when it goes to the dump).

im an environmentalist but not in this sense...this seat (if expired) could end up being used, yk?

if its not expired, donate it. :)

yeh, im sure there are lots of shelters that could use a car seat that has 3 years left on it.
