Does anyone have a 1999 Buick Regal?
Love it or hate it?
DH is looking at one (the price is really good) for a "work car" (in other words, so he doesn't have to drive the fuel hog pick up back and forth to work)
We would use it for occasional trips out of town, shopping etc. (everything is "out of town" for us  )
Just curious what others think of them!

You'd have to get top tether anchors installed... but otherwise, I'm sure it's fine. www.informedforlife.org has safety ratings :)
We have a 2000 Buick Regal. It's my dh's car to drive to and from work. We love it. We've had it for 6 years. It has about 103,000. We've had no major problems w/it yet, knock on wood. It drives really nice. My dh drives it 80 miles rt to work.
Ours does have top tethers but it is a 2000. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!
We're going to get top tethers installed, I just have to look them up in my latch manual!

We have a 1999 Buick Century, which I believe is the next step down from the regal? It is a great car for carseats. I can get a rfing radian outboard next to a husky center and still have just enough room for a SS1.
You will need to get tether anchors installed and GM will provide 1 of those for free. The others run about $40 per anchor for parts and labor. I took my car to a chevy dealership both times (since we weren't smart and got the anchors at diff. times...lol!) and had no problems getting the anchors done for free....so you don't HAVE to go to a Buick dealership, just a GM dealership.
We get about 20 MPG overall, probably closer to 25 pure highway. We got it from my parents last year and neither they nor we have had any major issues. It's a nice family car.

We currently have the 1996, which looks like the same one. It's the super-charged or turbo-charged engine so the gas mileage is lower. With premium we get 25mpg, with regular we get about 18...
I have the Britax Boulevard installed RF behind the drivers' side seat and DH doesn't have a whole lot of leg room (he has long legs) but it fits pretty well :)
Please excuse the mess *blush* we had just gotten back from a trip, car seat had just arrived and was sitting on the porch, ooh I was excited!

Looks like it touches, but it doesn't (unless I push on the seat or something).

Thank you for sharing the pictures :) Just a quick note, though--your kiddo's straps are way too loose :o

No problem!
Thanks, I know... we were just modeling ;) he wasn't wearing a diaper at all, which is a big change from a big ol' cloth dipe! I usually almost have to get violent to get a click :lol

Thanks for the pix!
I've got the senera in there RF now for DS since DD grew out of it FF. It's nice because the seat backs are "deeper" or something and DS has a lot more leg room than he does in the capstans seats in our van!
DH has taken it on the hwy a few times now and the last trip (400 miles) he got about 28 mpg even driving into 40 mph winds for 50 miles!!!!
