We have recently purchased a new (to us) '06 Chrysler Town & Country. We were installing our two Britax seats (one marathon, one decathalon) with the LATCH and tether, and DH reclined the seat a bit to get a snug fit. I did not recline the seat at all on the one I installed, and while it is snug, there is a bit of space between the bottom back of the britax and the seat.

I checked the manual but can't find anything other than that the bench seat should be reclined "3 clicks" to use the LATCH system.

Does anyone know if it is safe to have the seat installed with the seat reclined to get a closer fit? Which way is 'correct'? Both seem to be quite snug to me, I just want to make sure we are doing it correctly. Both headrests have been removed to get a better fit.

Thanks!

Reclining the vehicle seat 2 - 3 clicks back is not going to hurt the install on this particular vehicle. I would not recline any further than that though. I also always remove the head restraints for easier FFing installations. A tiny bit of space is not going to hurt as long as the majority (80%) of the seat is touching the vehicle seat back.

Neither installation sounds incorrect, just different methods. One will make the seat install more upright than the other.
