On another board I frequent there is an option to "thank" someone for a good informative message.. Its not like rep, but a message comes up on the forum under the post that says "the following users (lists username) found this post helpful.. Something to consider as a way to get past the quote and "yeah that" responses.

Just a thought as it would be a good way to publicly acknowledge good posts/info.

Many features are available through 3rd party addons, but I generally won't install them because they are not supported (in fact they hinder support) and can potentially cause security risks.

On the other hand, a few features are coming with the next version, probably next weekend. Here are some-

Buddy Lists
Public profile messaging
Member photo galleries
Social groups with messaging
Updated user profile system and display

Not all these will be available to all usergroups, some may not be enabled at all initially...
