i'm in the market for a new(er) van. we don't have alot of money to spend but i need something that would fit my family well. my parents have a 06 g caravan but i'm fidning this vehicle to not be very kid friendly----long story...but my eldest doesn't fit in the 3rd seat with or without a booster....& i don't even think the seatbelt fits well on an adult even & there aren't enough LATCH for my taste. i need more than 3.
also need adjustable headrests and woudl be wonderful to have shoulder/lap in all positions
so currently my kids ride in (& want these to do well in the next vehicle)

06 Kia Sedona has lap/shoulder in all positions, and LATCH in 4 (all but rear center). Adjustable headrests, reclining seats, the middle seats can move forward and back to adjust leg room.

I have a 2004 sienna that seats 8 and all the seats have lap/shoulder belts and headrests and all 6 seats in the back have LATCH.

2001 Grand Caravan with captain's chairs has LATCH available to all 5 rear seats. BUT only 2 sets of anchors on the rear bench - so you can have either 2 outboard or 1 middle installed with LATCH.

To clarify about the Sienna, the '04-'08 Sienna's third row driver's side doesn't have LATCH (no lower anchors or top tether in that seating position), but every other rear seating position does have full LATCH in both 7-passenger and 8-passenger versions.

07 Kia sedona(even the base model) has tethers in all 4 spots and latch in all 4 seating positions(Except middle rear of back seat).
But, it does have lap/shoulder belts in ALL positions!

Oops sorry about that. I went and checked before I posted but I now see that what I thought was the outboard latch is the one for the center. The latch anchor is inside of the outboard seat belt, kind of confusing.

Yup, the overlapping of the third row driver's side seatbelt buckle stalk and the center position's lower anchor closest to the driver's side is an oddity in the Sienna's third row. I wish the Sienna had full LATCH in all rear seating positions. So close, but not quite. :)

Ford Windstar (newer than 1999) all have 6 tether points (3 in the back, 2 in the middle and one on the Passenger seat), and I believe they also have 4 positions for the LATCH/UAS, 2 positions in the back, and 2 positions in the middle.
1999 - 2003 - Have 6 Tether points, after this is seems they drop down to 4 (only one in the rear bench seat for the center position)
2000- 2003 - has 4 positions for LATCH, but starting in '04 they go down to 3 (with the option of having the middle bench seat either having a middle latch or 2 out board latch, but if you use the middle latch, you can only have that seat there....the rest of the bench is useless.)
Kinda makes you wonder WHY they went from 6 tether points and 4 LATCH points down to 4 and 3.....????

Just to note - the older style Kia Sedonas don't have as many latch positions as the newer ones. My 04 has full latch for the second row and the third row has only 1 top tether and no lower latch anchors at all.
ETA: sorry, just noticed you are looking at a newer vehicle. never mind my post :)

not super new. there is no way at this time we can afford a NEW vehicle. so the older the better. but i need something with enough LATCH/TA spots for my kids & i believe that those started sometime after 2000 for most vehicles.
thank you all so far for your help. now to get enough money & figure which is best for us. could be a challenge. but the stimulus package does help ALOT!

i think for ease of getting in & out AND the seats able to LATCH the 3rd row needs to have LATCH outboard - i want the monterey booster latched!! OY
