Ford Edge - head rest Q

My IL's just bought a ford edge, and I have a question about the head rest. We looked in the manual but didn't see anything about it...
The head rest in the front seats tip pretty far forward, and it's very uncomfortable for MIL because of her hair.
As long as the head rest lock in, is it ok to turn them around? When they're turned around, there's not much gap between her head and the head rest....

Thoughts?

I'll be interested to know what others have to say about this. If I have my hair in a pony tail I get a really bad headache from the head rest.
