We got our Zebra Clek Olli today, and we all love it so far. :) The only downfall (for us) is that we don't have a vehicle with lower anchors, but the Olli manual does say to just tuck the rigid LATCH hooks into the vehicle seat bight if you have no anchors. They do remind you to buckle it up when not in use, so it doesn't become a projectile.

H is 6 years, 10 months old, 51.5 inches tall and 60 pounds, with about an 18.25 inch torso. I believe she is more leg than torso these days, and finding a booster that offers enough depth is important to us. I worried the Olli would be too short in the seat for comfort, but so far, she likes it. :) We've only used it for a short trip around town (5-10 minutes total), but she insists it's awesome.

Three pics per post, click on each thumbnail to enlarge. ;)

First pic is just the Olli sitting in the middle row passenger side captain's chair of a 1999 Ford Windstar. Second picture shows the small gap between the back of the Olli and the captain's chair (just enough space to fit a finger, because my seat bight is not deep enough to allow me to shove the rigid LATCH hooks far enough to make it flush against the vehicle seat; retractable LATCH hooks would be nice, to get them out of the way when they can't be used). Third pic is a close-up of how the belt fits dd in the seat.

First two pics show full-length how she fits, third pic shows a close-up of how the lapbelt fits.

First pic shows how my long buckle stalks cause the buckle to be right on the edge of the belt path, but not in a way that causes an issue with the belt tightening or fitting properly. Second picture shows the seat depth.

Wow, armrests that are a useable height!!!

How much is it and where can I find it?

My 7yo goddaughter is about 80lb and the armrests of her TB are getting uncomfortable enough in her thighs that her parents let her get out of it and throw it in the back of their truck while moving!

Yes, that's a HUGE plus for the Olli. :D The armrests are an awesome height, just perfect.

Here's the official website (http://www.magnaclek.com/us/english/olli/index.aspx), they retail for $89.99, which seems spendy, but it's LATCHable, and super-comfy, auto-upholstery-quality. It's also wider than the Turbo by quite a bit.

Nice fit, she looks more comfy than some other pics I seen, and really cute that you two have the same haircut :)

Hehe, thanks. :) She actually wanted her hair to be shorter, and cut more choppy, but the lady didn't quite understand. I let her get a pink streak, too, but it washed out within a week. :p

I love the fit of this booster, I wish I could be okay with her in a backless, but I'm not, yet; not full-time, anyway. She still fits her highbacks, and my vehicle does not have side airbags. :(

We too love our Olli!!!

I think I am going to order the Zebra replacement cover as a backup for a pink camo. I so wish we would have known about the Zebra when we bought ours. We bought it at Lonestar Baby (formally USA Baby) and all they had was the pink & green camo & lime green.

Not for two weeks or so. Payday came and went, and we are flat broke again. But we paid off some overdue bills, so that's good. I'm thinking I'll make it over the middle of May.

If you don't have anchors, and you don't want her riding in a backless booster... why did you buy it? I'm totally confused.

Jenny--she looks great in that. I really like how the belt fits her. She's just a bit smaller than E. Now I really want one....must.not.buy.another.booster.seat.

For those of you who like the clek designs, we have a poll going on the clekbuzz blog (www.clekbuzz.com). Perhaps you could add your favorite choices so we can provide some feedback to clek.

Thanks!

I voted for Bubblegum Camo, even though my daughter's favorite is Zebra. :p

For those of you who like the clek designs, we have a poll going on...

I asked my kids for feedback. They're 10 years (boy), 8 years (girl), and 5 years (girl). All three of them liked the leopard print.
Roman: Leopard, olli green, treehouse camo.
Eva: Leopard, zebra (distant 2nd).
Nadia: Leopard, zebra, olli green, clek blue.

Wow that would be such a nice booster to have here. We NEVER have any "cool" print car seats. I've never in my life seen anything, a booster, nothing with camo prints or girly prints. You guys are so lucky!

Does the Clek Olli have a weight limit and if so, what is the limit? TIA

Hi Melinda,
The olli is designed for children weighing between 40 and 100 pounds (http://www.magnaclek.com/pdfs/olli_Owners_Manual_US_EN.pdf).

this is why I'm still fighting to get the money for the olli... I go back and forth on being sure about it because of depth, but I figure I'll just order it from a place that takes returns easily.

On the other hand, while he doesn't fit in any other of my highbacks, Jeffrey can fit very well in the Nautilus as a highback booster, so I'm also tempted to just buy him that or the Monterey... of course, he wants the Nautilus because he wants to match his sister.

thoughts? Why did you opt for the olli over a taller highback that could convert to backless?

Hmm, for us, the Nautilus in booster mode offers about the same amount of growing room as the highback Turbo or the Compass B510; the Monterey is much taller. I wouldn't buy a Nautilus for booster mode only, at all. But if he doesn't find the Nautilus or backless Turbo short in the seat, I doubt he'll have trouble with the Olli's depth.

I didn't choose the Olli as H's primary booster (yet :p ). She still has a smidge of room in her Compass B510, and loads of room in her Recaro Start. The Start will be her primary highback booster until she outgrows it. We're thinking of selling the B510 (bought because it worked well in the truck, nothing else did, but we're selling the truck, so there's no need for the B510 anymore). I just bought a Madison Regent so H will be harnessed again on longer trips, and will use the Start or Olli for around town trips, or carpooling. Although, there may be times she needs a highback when carpooling due to lack of headrests, but the Start won't work due to lack of top tether, so maybe I should re-think selling the B510.

I just buy both.

I think keeping the start, the compass, and the olli would be good.

You'll have the Regent for longer trips (maybe primary seat), the Start as the main booster, the Compass and Olli can be spare boosters (when she outgrows the Regent, especially) and will make sure you always have a booster that will work in whatever carpool situation she has.

I sold my Phil & Ted Stroller (took me awhile to part with it) and we're ordering the new booster.

Jeffrey surprised me... not only did he decide (he said it was from having used Ruthie's Nautilus as a booster and it reminding him how comfy a headrest was) that he wants the Monterey (he likes that it doesn't have a harnessed mode... that it's ONLY a booster), but he's gone back to wanting it in RED (YAY... I don't like mesh!).

So here he had been insisting he would only use a backless, but giving him a chance to borrow his sister's seat and reassuring him that no one seeing him would make fun of him (for some reason, he said he thought they would) and that a highback booster WAS for big big boys, especially with Damian telling him it was... and that's big... cause Damian is so happy that he doesn't need a booster anymore, but he just turned and said... Boosters are for big kids... I'm just super tall. And You should ride in one with a headrest until you are too tall.

Of course, he then proceeded to say it was so you had headwings for sleeping, but hey, me takes what me gets.

So Jeffrey has declared I'm the best mommy ever and that he was going to give me a big kiss when the Monterey gets here.

I'm so happy. At 6.5yrs, I'm okay with him in a backless since he doesn't flop when asleep, but of course I want him as safe as I can make him.

He's just not hitting the huge height Damian was at this age... he's only in the 80th percentile, not the 98th Damian is in now, so he should have a lot of time in it with the back.

And I figure, even if he only has another 6mo, it's worth the extra 50 bucks because I can always pass it to Ruthie when he outgrows it (as a spare).
