Ok...all this talk about BPA from my mommy boards has led to the above question.
So is there BPA in the plastics our carseats are made from? If so, what's the danger of it leaching into the air in the heat? Can it pass through the padding/cover/ect?

Hhmmm....good question. Although, I think the exposure risk is minimal since it is not swallowed, like in a bottle or sippy cup.
Somewhere I have a bookmarked page for a website that tests cars....the toxins in the fabric, padding, etc. I'll see if I can find it in a bit....but I have to dash & get my dd from preschool. I'll look for it after lunch!

i doubt there's BPA in carseats because it seems to be mostly in hard and clear plastics, not the flexible softer plastics that carseats are made of. i could be wrong. plus, the risk is in ingestion, as a PP mentioned.
