Frontier vs Nautilus for 3 across.....

Has anyone compared the actual width of these seats?

When I start buying seats, I will need them to be able to fit 3 across sometimes. The Nautilus arm rests seem like they will cause problems with this.

Do the Frontier arm rests rotate up? If they do, it looks like you may be able to puzzle them better, or just fit more next to each other.

Right now, I can fit 2 Cargos and a Futura in one row. I will eventually be buying 5 or 6 new seats. I may buy 1 or 2 convertible seats that will be more versatile, but most of my kids will fit in the FF HWH seats.

I know everyone is still playing with the Frontier. If anyone has a chance to install it next to a RF MA, or any other seat, please let me know the results. I need to start buying in the next couple months and I don't want to miss a good sale if it pops up.

No real answers from me, mainly bumping because I'm interested in this question also.

I think the maximum width of the two seats is very similar (maybe 19-19.25" for the Nautilus, and 19.5" for the Frontier?). However, the armrests on the Nautilus, which go almost straight up and down on the sides of the seat, do make it look less promising for 3-across. The Frontier at least has more variations in its width, so perhaps a better chance of actually puzzling next to something else.... I hope. The Nautilus looks like it has to just sit next to any neighboring seat, without much chance of overlap -- sort of like installing a big box :).

The Nautilus is right around 19", and I was able to get 3 across in my Durango:

But it has a really wide 2nd row seat (57") , and I don't think you'd be able to fit 3 in very may vehicles...

One other thing to consider, is that the Frontier's armrests have to be down when the seat is actually in use. Installing in the vehicle and buckling kiddo in the armrests can be up, but when actually travelling they're supposed to be down. (At least that was my understanding from reading the manual.)
