Anyone have any tips for getting a good install FF on a plane? Should I ask for a belt extender (will do that for my RFing MA)?

TIA! ~ Diane

Open velcro flaps. Buckle. Tighten. Done. Seriously, it's that easy. :)

RFing Marathon... same thing... route through belt path. Buckle. Tighten. Done. It's that easy... no belt extender needed.

Just FYI, the belt extender for the MA is useful when you're installing it FF--because the buckle ends up really tight against the belt path, and it can be hard to unbuckle, even if you remember to flip the buckle over so it's facing the plane seat. But it's not needed at all for RF on a plane because the buckle ends up facing up and easy to access and unbuckle, when you install RF.

Before I flew I did a search on this website for tips and I could be wrong but I think it was Defrost that had some excellent tips for installing the Radian on a plane. I read over those carefully and I'm so glad I did because it helped me out a lot.

I flew Southwest and found that I got the best install by reclining the airplane seat and also using the built in recline on the bottom of the Radian. After I got in in tight I put the airplane seat back in position and it was nice and tight.

I was even able to put the seat back in the recline position while my son slept during the flight.

Update on how it went:

I loved the Radian on the plane!!! It was so simple to install--unvelcro the sides put the buckle in and pull and voila! A rock solid install. What a dream.

The MA RFing was simple too. I just wish the newer MAs had the latch pouches sewn into the cover--faster stashing from car install.

I'll have to post some pictures of the girls in their seats on the plane--must download from the camera. I'm sold on seats on planes--an element of comfort and security in an unfamiliar environment and when turbulence hit, DD#1 was completely unfazed.

Security & FAs thought the folding seat was great--no one had ever seen one before.

I used a folding luggage cart and put the MA on it and then popped the RA in that with a bungee cord around the contraption and it was easy to get thru the airport.

Thank you again for all the tips!!! You guys are the best!
